Luke Romick and Evan Wesley.
Luke and Evan are part of the team members for the Thirst Project and will be sharing how this non-profit 501(c) 3 project started on May 9, 2008, and how the global water crisis is impacting countries around the world.
The Thirst Project is the world’s leading youth water activism organization.
This is their Mission:
Build a socially-conscious generation of young people who END the global water crisis. We do this by educating students about it and activating them to rock the clean water cause & build real water projects all over the world. Why Water? Health and Sanitation: Waterborne diseases kill more children every single year than AIDS, Malaria, and all world violence combined. Small children typically do not have strong enough immune systems to fight diseases like cholera, dysentery, or schistosomiasis.
How do they spread the word?
Today they travel the country to middle schools, high schools, and college campuses speaking and educating students about the global water crisis, and challenge them to take action to end it. When they leave, students are equipped to do their own fundraisers and make a real impact on the issue. Today, they have raised over $9 million, 100% of which has been used on water projects. These funded projects have provided over 330,000 people with safe, clean water!
“Our goal with Thirst Project is to provide safe, clean water and sanitation to the entire Kingdom of eSwatini by 2022. With your help, we believe we can do this. With your help, we can give water. With your help, we can give life.”
“We can no longer ignore the #1 global killer of children.”
