Generally I like to combine song lyrics with subject matter. I can’t help myself, I know…the next line; I love you and nobody else. But that just doesn’t fit in the scheme of my hummingbirds of the week.
I continue to interrupt myself morning, noon and night, because these “buzzers” as I like to call them, are always around. I don’t do anything special to deserve all these opportunities. They sure aren’t shy. They just share the space and I feel so lucky to observe them.
I take an endless amount of pictures; therefore I need a system to locate them on my desk top. I have folders oh yes I do, lots of folders many with the same title. That’s when the system bogs down a bit, so then I use the year in the folder title.
The Hummingbirds have a few folders, just plain Hummingbirds…starting with their own folder in 2013. Here are a couple of my favorites in the front yard pineapple- guava tree and then a nest taken at a friend’s house.
I have so many in 2014 that I am just going to select a few this time. This show stopper is in the olive tree in my backyard.
But my favorites this summer have been in the drooping agapanthus in my backyard. I realize that this blog should have some content and not just photo after photo, but this time, I can’t resist. The pictures just do the talking.
I also have folders titled Birds in the Fountain. There is some maintenance, that’s true. I do need to clean it regularly and it’s a hassle; but the benefits far outweigh the trouble. I never get tired of watching them.
After a nice 4th of July weekend, I thought about how much I appreciate my freedom and my ability to enjoy my life as I “Do It My Way”. Okay, a little hokey, but I needed to get a song in there somehow!!
Stay tuned for more fun along my journey as I am…
