Sometimes inspiration comes from the craziest things that happen in life. Today has been no exception. Rather than continue to post Bird of the Week, as an ongoing Facebook post on Sunday evenings; I’ve decided to write a bit more about these favorite birds of mine!!

The scrub jays make such a racket. They demand to be noticed and they expect to have some peanuts as well. However, they march to their own time frame. The peanut grabbers, better known as the squirrels and crows have already taken care of the peanut allotment for the day.
Now the jays feel left out and want their fair share. I of course am obedient and take peanuts out for them, along with my camera. Seems only reasonable.
They aren’t the only ones that like a piece of the action. The house finch is back, with his blazing red head, bowing for the camera, as he pecks away at his nyjer thistle. Not very clear, but I’m shooting through a glass door.
Not to be outdone by his very proud mate…But the little birdies don’t just eat in my yard…no…they bathe and drink as well.
