Four friends on our way to Martha’s Vineyard.

Nobska Lighthouse was first built in 1828 and rebuilt in 1876.  It is located on the southern tip of Cape Cod between Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound, in Woods Hole, Mass.

In a matter of 45 quick minutes we landed in Vineyard Haven, to be greeted by our newest best friend, Joe.  We spent the next 2 1/2 hours touring around the island that he has called home for most of his life.

There are 6 towns on MV, with a combine population during the winter of about 20,000 people. However, in the summer it swells to over 100,000.  Weddings are a big draw.  There are as many as 30-40 weddings a weekend.

The Edgar Harbor Light, built in 1828 is another one of the 5 lighthouses.

Surrounded by water, the view of this dock is an example of peace and tranquility.

As we continued on our drive we came upon Gay Head Cliffs. I try to take pictures of signs along the way.  Note to self…pay attention to get all the info!  But what you can read is very interesting as was the sight of these clay cliffs.

We had a marvelous time touring MV.  But now it’s time to eat…again.  This time we enjoyed our lunch at the Black Dog Tavern. Another opportunity for crab cakes.

My friend Mary is in her ultimate element. Time with friends in her favorite part of the country; Cape Cod, eating ice cream at the Cape Cod Creamery after a great day. Oh what fun we had!
