Meet Hilton.

Hill is currently a Vice-President at Marsh & McLennan, Inc., the #1 Commercial Insurance Broker nationally and internationally. In his role, he serves as a broker-advocate on behalf of his book of Fortune 500 clients whenever they suffer a catastrophic Property Damage loss. This role is a by-product of many professional years as a Risk Manager for past employers such as Hughes Aircraft Company and Boeing.

In addition, Hilton has been a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild for 30 years. Among some of his proudest accomplishments, aside from being a loving husband and father, are being a designated “Competent Communicator” with Toastmasters International. He is also a mentor with “FosterNation” a foster-care outreach avenue for “aged-out” foster-care young adults.

Currently Hilton is the President of the Playa Venice Sunrise Rotary Club serving the communities of Westchester, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista and Silicon Beach in Southern California. I belong to this club as well.

Rotary.

Rotary was founded in 1905 in Chicago, Illinois by a man named Paul Harris. It started as a business networking group and evolved into the world’s largest service club. In 2005 Rotary International celebrated its centennial anniversary, 100 years old! All clubs that were started that year were chartered as “centennial clubs” and Playa Venice Sunrise was proud to be among that elite group.

Community service is one of the Avenues of Service which encourages Rotarians to offer service to their local and regional communities. Every Rotary Club and every Rotarian assumes a responsibility to find ways to improve the quality of life for those in their communities and to serve the public interest.

We just finished a project for the holidays, called Adopt A Family. This is something we do as teams to support families in need each year.

Hilton will be sharing some news about our community projects as we begin this new year. We also are very social, and enjoy fun times together each month. Sometimes it’s a hike, sometimes it’s a happy hour and we are always encouraged to bring a friend to rotary.
