What kind of airline passenger are you? Let’s play 10 questions! Feel free to answer!! I’ll share my answers with you.
Do you want to curl up next to the window and read a good book? Probably not.
Do you want to sit on the aisle for additional leg room and have easy access to the telephone booth size bathroom? No.
That’s pretty funny. When was the last time you saw a telephone booth? I honestly can’t remember.
Do you dread sitting next to a stranger? No.
Do you bring food on board, since you know a bag of peanuts isn’t a full meal? Yes, if I have the time. Which I didn’t this time and the guy across the aisle was eating a burrito, I almost attacked him!!
Do you put your headset on and listen to music? If I have no one to talk to.
Do you make eye contact as people are walking down the aisle? Of course.
Are you picking out the person you hope sits next to you? Yep.
Are you going to take a nap? Maybe. I’ve actually fallen asleep on those 6:00am flights before we have lifted off the runway.
How do you feel about sitting next to someone like me…a “Chatty Cathy”? Are you kidding, I would love it!!!
For those of you that don’t know about Chatty Cathy…she was a blonde doll manufactured by Mattel Toys in 1960. The brunette came out a couple of years later. You would pull a string from her back and she would speak eleven different phrases.
I’m more of a Chatty Cathy on overdrive. Eleven statements could happen before we finish hearing the garbled instructions about wearing our seatbelts slung low on our hips. Who knew you can get fashion statements on flying.
So, this time, I am sitting by quiet people, that’s fine, I can take a hint.
Because this was an evening flight, I had the incredible opportunity to see not only big billowy clouds from 36,000 feet but storm clouds with lightning streaking through them off in the distance. But it was the sun setting through the cloud formations that were just spectacular. I just kept clicking away. Over nearly 40 minutes from start to finish. This is why I sit next to the window!!
I know…it looks like lava!!
The last glimmer of sunlight as the sun sets in the west!
It’s always great to return home especially if you like where you live and you miss your family and friends. It’s incredible what can happen in your yard in two weeks. I’m telling you Mother Nature just takes care of business, she doesn’t care where I’ve been.
So, my regularly scheduled programming has returned. Gone out for lunch a couple of times, going out for dinner, gone to a Dodger game, going to the Pantages Theatre to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Family visitors from Detroit! Basketball game…Oh What A Life!!
But wait, there’s more…I thought I’d take a picture of the backyard flowers and instead I caught the crow family drinking from the fountain. I have seen and taken lots pictures of different birds in my fountain…but this was a first. AND I’m taking these through my sliding glass door in an effort not to scare them off. These just can’t wait for Sunday’s Bird of the Week!
Many people are not fond of crows, but they are so smart and interesting to watch. These are actually the babies!!! I know, they’re huge…especially compared to these…
Come back again next time, who knows what’s around the corner?
