Robert Hoyman

Join me for another episode of the Born To Talk Radio Show Podcast on Monday, December 21st from 1-2 PT.  My guest is Author, Robert Hoyman.  His debut book is  Limerick Comics.

Let’s meet Robert.

Born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, Robert grew up on the “Space Coast” of Florida. During his childhood, he was a witness to a host of historic launches from the Gemini, Apollo, and Space Shuttle programs.  Robert is a graduate of the University of South Florida. His journey as a classroom teacher spanned 41 years of teaching in private and public schools in Florida, California, and Virginia.

In addition to his full-time teaching duties, Robert worked part-time for 20 years. He coached after-school athletics, rendered counseling services to children, adolescents, and their parents at a community counseling center, and worked as a competency trainer for the court system. He also served on the board of directors at the local children’s community theatre.

Whether in the classroom, on the school stage, or on the playground, Robert’s primary goal was to make learning fun. He produced and directed more than a dozen fully-staged musical plays. Robert also co-wrote and produced a performance version of the television game show To Tell the Truth.

Author.  Limerick Comics.

Robert’s classroom experiences along with his zeal for theatrics are the perfect combination for his first book, Limerick Comics. In his book, Robert offers lighthearted original limericks on a wide range of history and science topics.  There is an informational panel of surprising facts, all presented in entertaining comics. Readers age 8 and up are invited to linger on each page to enjoy the humor, ponder inferences, and view the evocative details of each illustrated panel.

Limerick Comics is an innovative pairing of poetic imagination and fun facts enlivened by the immensely popular comics format. The book is crafted to appeal to reluctant and advanced readers alike. The informational panel can provide a springboard for discussion between parents and children about each topic.

You will hear about Robert’s inspiration for his book.  Are you wondering, when he writes a limerick, does he picture an image to accompany it? He will take us through his writing process and collaboration with illustrator Steve Feldman.

Tune in for this entertaining show!  I love a great storyteller and Robert fits that category!
