Please join me on May 20th, at 1:00 PT on the Born To Talk Radio Show Podcast with my guests from Rotary International District 5280, Cozette Vergari, Rob DeCou, and Gail Goldstein. Today’s show is focusing on what these Rotarians are doing to fight Human Trafficking. Through the Action Group Against Slavery, they are raising awareness, providing advocacy and assisting victims.
Meet my guests.
Cozette Vergari is a member of the Westchester Rotary and is the Past Rotary International District 5280 Governor for the Los Angeles region. Currently, she serves the Rotarian Action Group Against Slavery as the North American Coordinator.
Rob DeCou and Gail Goldstein are members of the Playa Venice Sunrise Rotary. Rob is an ultra-endurance athlete raising money to end human trafficking.
Gail is the Foundation Chair and will be assisting Rob in his fundraising events.
What defines Rotary?
The focus of the Rotarian Action Group Against Slavery.
“We are Rotarians collaborating with law enforcement agencies, elected officials and non-profit organizations assisting victims of human trafficking.
Although human trafficking is often a hidden crime and accurate statistics are difficult to obtain, researchers estimate that more than 80% of trafficking victims are female. Over 50% of human trafficking victims are children.”
Your takeaway.
Maybe you know what it means to be a marathon runner, or perhaps what it means to be a tri-athlete however, what does it mean to be an Ultra-Endurance Athlete? What are the goals for RAGAS over the next three years? How can you learn more?
Above all, Cozette, Rob, and Gail share their special talents within their local clubs. I have become a recent Rotarian, in the Playa Venice Sunrise Rotary. We will be sharing our stories about what Rotary means to us. It is my pleasure to share an hour with three exceptional representatives of this International Organization.
