Seabin

Joining me on the Born To Talk Radio Show Podcast on June 26th, from 1-2 PT from Seabin, are Bryan Plante General Manager, of Seabin North America, and Scott Taylor, Global Partnerships Manager.

Let’s Meet Bryan and Scott.

Brian grew up with his family as a surfer, avid boater, and beach go-er.  He is an ocean lover at heart and has spent over a decade in marina operations. After seeing firsthand the impact of what plastic pollution has on oceans and waterways, Bryan decided to shift careers and be part of the solution. Bryan is now applying his operational expertise in scaling Seabin’s business and impact data offering throughout North America.

Scott is privileged to have lived and traveled around the world.  Regardless of where he was, one constant was plastic pollution in waterways. As a surfer and ocean lover, it’s impossible to ignore the global plastic pollution problem.  He has always felt compelled to be part of the solution. What started as picking up litter on beaches as a child, he now creates long-lasting impact partnerships between Seabin and value-aligned organizations.

 Seabin.

In 2015, Seabin originated in Australia.  From the invention of a simple yet innovative concept; a trash can crossed with a pool skimmer to remove plastic, microplastics, oil, and other contaminants from our oceans, Seabin has become a global authority on microplastics & ocean health, by providing the much-needed critical data sets to influence positive policy-making and behavioral changes.

In 2019, Seabin diverged from a retail sales model and embarked on its new ambitious 100 Cities Program. One of those cities includes Los Angeles, beginning in 2022.

While they no longer sell Seabins, they do sell impact data to repair the planet.

The Future.

From Australia to the US, our waters need a process of reducing marine litter.  Just since the project’s first implementation in  Sydney in 2020, a 780% increase in plastic items have been collected from the 16 Seabin units across the Sydney Harbour.
