How much do I really know about these little visitors each day? First I know they’re hungry and show up ready to eat, regardless of the weather. Of course, we eat regardless of the weather, which makes sense.
Do they all end up in my yard? Pretty much, over time in the morning. There is most definitely a pecking order and a routine.
Think of my yard as a food court. You come in; in this case, you fly in, and look around. The good news, there is always something to eat in the morning, whether I am in town or out, I’ve got it covered. The bad news, the variety never changes, they don’t need to see a menu and I don’t have to stress over what to buy.
Thank you petco.
Some come in peace. But, don’t let them fool you, they will chase the sparrows out of the way in a hurry.Oh sure, they are pretty in the morning sun as well. Just stay out of their way, when they decide to come in for a landing!
As in all aspects of our lives, things change. Take the “serving table.” This picture was taken 3 years ago, old table and old feeding tray. Same old food!
Nothing is too good for my birdies. Let me get the perfect table and chairs for your dining pleasure.
And because the table and bowl can’t successfully serve the amount of birds I have, I have to put some seed on the ground…the pine needles just serves as garnish!
Here they come…Pigeon, I’m not thrilled.
Doves and the hidden sparrows
Oh sure I have seeds, but the peanuts are also a daily featured item. Surely I can’t forget about the squirrels, crows and scrub jays.
Then of course the precious finches that have their own specialty food
Depending on everyone’s mood, I am able to capture their rituals. Some are more willing to pose then others.
I know what you’re thinkin’…”Does she do anything, other than photograph birds?” Ah, of course…I’m in the middle of organizing a “Medicare” class reunion!!!
Oh What a Life!
