A Girl’s Weekend

I have had the good fortune of travelling with my buddies for many years.  Palm Springs in the early years was replaced with Palm Desert.  Hotels were replaced by a lovely Marriott Timeshare.

Note:  Shhh…Choose your friends wisely; Timeshares are a great friend benefit!!

We have a standard routine. We are a group of 4 women that have been friends for over 35 years. Three of us continue to walk every morning. The 4th lives in Las Vegas; she flies in the night before we leave for the desert and then off we go the next day!

First stop, Starbucks. Then we join the cars and trucks on the freeway to our favorite pastime, shopping at the Outlets in Cabazon.

There is lots of construction going on this year, and I thought this was the perfect sign for me…who can’t relate?

Besides shopping, which we have down to a science, eating is also a big event.  In fact as the Winter Olympics continued through our stay and we enjoyed watching the women “curling”; I thought of a new sport. Shopping and eating…we could be on the podium as gold medal winners!

One of our favorite places to eat is Tommy Bahama’s. Let’s drink.

Grapefruit Basil Martini, Iced Tea, Diet Coke and my Bloody Mary

We started with a special because we knew the “magic word” Babaloo, so we received a free appetizer.

Chicken Lollipop with Macadamia Nuts and Jerk Remoulade.

If you have eaten at TB’s you know those rolls with the cinnamon butter is really good too!

I had the Lobster Ravioli…just delicious and the Bungalow Salad equally delish!!

Let’s not forget dessert; definitely a shared experience…

Pina Colada Cake

Vanilla Cake, Myers Dark Rum, Diced Pineapple, White Chocolate Mousse and Toasted Coconut.  I know!!!  We should be walking back to the Marriott!!!

We have so much fun together…next up… planning our fall trip to New England!

Now off to the gym!!!
