Thank you Phil Frengs for joining me on the Born To Talk Radio Show Podcast.
Meet Phil.
Phil was born in San Mateo, CA. He graduated from UCLA in 1973 with a bachelors degree in Economics. Currently Phil is the President and CEO at Legistics, Inc.
He and his company Legistics host an annual pro-am golf tournament at Pebble Beach that benefits junior golfers in Southern California through the award of college scholarships. After 14 years that tournament has raised $2.5 million. It is notable in that many of the scholarship recipients have been the first in their families to attend college or university.

Phil is also the Founder of Racing to End Alzheimer’s Foundation since January of 2017. Racing to End Alzheimer’s gives you a chance to honor someone with dementia who championed you and made a difference in your life. When you add your loved one’s name to their race car, 100% of your donation goes to fund the care and the cure for Alzheimer’s disease. And it’s matched by their generous racing sponsor, Legistics!

Phil’s Takeaways.
“I am a truly lucky person. Having lived a full life professionally, also as a family man, and community-involved activist, I have found an inspiring purpose. By experiencing Alzheimer’s in my own life, and becoming aware of its impact across so many people’s lives…. I found a way to make a difference.”
“As it turns out, it is very hard to find someone that hasn’t had or has a person in their lives impacted by this horrible disease. Since it is so prevalent, my take away is not just that we create awareness, or that we develop funding for research and care giving…. but more importantly we give people the unique opportunity to make their loved one’s name known. A public acknowledgment that speaks to care, love and honor of people that have made a difference in their lives.”
“So all in, I and those that support our efforts are making a difference amongst those who live with this challenge and who make their champions name’s known. We hope that this simple act has a healing effect.”
In Closing.
Phil has also been an active philanthropist, working most notably with UCLA Women’s Golf Progam, charing for more than two decades its principal fund-raising activities. This include its annual benefit golf tournament the Bruin 18. Funds raised for UCLA golf has exceeded $1 million. He has also been involved for many years with Southern California Junior Golf Foundation. He has also served on the Scholarship Committee, the Board of Directors and is a past-president.
If you are looking to be inspired, then this is the podcast for you! Thank you for joining me, Phil!
