Beautiful Day

By now you know that this once, three times a week blog has landed safely and comfortably on a Sunday evening. Why, because I have this incredible opportunity to take my written voice and parlay it to my speaking voice. Happy talk, keep talking, happy talk! (South Pacific)

It was always my goal, to have a radio show, once the idea was planted! Granted, it wasn’t really a goal I had initially but once we got this started it was easy to see that I can share my voice with others by introducing all of you to some fantastic people. People, people who need people. (Barbra Streisand)

One of the byproducts of both this blog and my internet Born To Talk Radio Show on latalklive.com, Monday’s live from 1-2 PT, is combining music into the mix. Turn the Page. (Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band)

It’s been a total work in progress, but then isn’t everything in life, if you continue to expand your horizons? Working nine to five. (Dolly Parton)

My first show was 18 weeks ago; that’s hard for me to believe.  As I have watched and listened to these shows, I can see where I’ve needed to improve and then I’ve done my best to do just so. Getting Better. (The Beatles)

It’s so funny, when you focus on yourself.  I am my toughest critic. I’m certain the addition of this being visual brings a different sense of reality as well. “Why did you choose to wear that?  What happened to your earring? Why do you keep looking down, away, blinking!!!  Interrupting!!  Notes, do you really need to use notes?” Let me answer that one, YES, I need notes.  It’s only Words. (Bee Gees)

My friends and I have this saying, we use another person’s name, which I will not use here, and instead, I will insert my own…”Get to the point, Marsha”  Without notes, that may not be achieved as easily, I could ramble, just like a rose! (Rambling Rose. Nat King Cole)

I’ve got a feeling. (Black-eyed Peas) It appears as I review my previous guests, that I have been able to highlight the Non-Profit world, also known as Not for Profit’s.

Doesn’t everyone need a helping hand? Why not support your local Rotary; you have one in your city I’m sure.  What about a community garden, nothing rare about planting where you live.  The food pantry in your community would welcome your support. Perhaps you know about a school that can benefit from social etiquette for young girls.  What about the homeless and mentally ill people you see, wouldn’t it be wonderful if they would consider having permanent housing? Reach out and touch, somebody’s hand. (Diana Ross)

I have also been able to feature educators, from teaching children how to play on the playground, teaching seniors to act and sing, speaking to the college bound students as undergrads and graduates, spiritual physiology, actors, singers, dancers, and my favorite sport, basketball. Teach, your children well. (Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young)

What a terrific time in my life.  Am I grateful?  You bet. Do I have more to learn, that’s a given!  Do I appreciate your support and comments, YES and in fact I always welcome any comments. I heard it through the grapevine. (Marvin Gaye)

Just in case you were not aware, this website also includes a menu tab with all the archived radio shows, by date and guess.  If you missed one, you can check it out, because we could be Happy together. (The Turtles)

I’ll also add this; if you do something that you think should get some attention, let me know.  You don’t even have to be my neighbor! (Mr. Rogers!)

Right now, I’m runnin’ down a dream (Tom Petty) and I’ve exhausted my playlist for the day!

The song Beautiful Day, by U2 is my closing number after each show.  It’s a beautiful day, don’t let it get away.
