I’m For The Birds

I have many interests.  I can’t even rank them by importance, so I will arrange them alphabetically. Birds, eating out, music, people, photography, sports, and of course travel. As you might imagine, with travel, I can incorporate all those interests just about anywhere. But there are times when I am actually home and I still manage to combine all those interests’ together; thanks in part to my full life.

Today I am going to share some bird moments with some music and photos!

I can’t tell you exactly when the whole bird thing started, probably about 25 years ago. It has morphed into a full time hobby. Those of you that have dog walkers and house sitters for your pets understand that I too have to be responsible. My favorite young teen of all time lives across the street.  She feeds the birds while I’m gone.

There are lots of songs about birds. Going way back to 1958 with Bobby Day singing Rockin Robin.

He rocks in the tree top all day long.

Robins are early birds…I told him to be ready for his close up, but he just turned away…something about that mouthful.

Here is a blast from the past, from 1965 sang by “Little” Jimmy Dickens…

May The Bird of Paradise Fly up Your Nose

The Beatles sang several songs about birds. One of my favorites is from 1968.

Blackbird

Lynyrd Skynyrd recorded Freebird in 1975. If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me?  That would be a resounding, yes!!

The iconic, Bob Marley singing Three Little Birds in 1977 with this advice:

Don’t worry about a thing, ’cause every little thing gonna be alright.

Prince formerly other names as well…When Doves Cry…1984

I’m not sure what doves look like when they’re crying. This is their statue pose.Tom Petty said it well…Learning to Fly in 1991…

Too bad I haven’t taken a picture of this bird from this long song list.  Seal from 1997.

Fly Like An Eagle

Perhaps as time keeps on ticking ticking ticking into the future, I will have an opportunity during my upcoming travels!
