In the 1972 film Butterflies Are free, Goldie Hawn falls in love with the New Star of the Year, Edward Albert, son of actor Eddie Albert. It’s been so long since I’ve watched this movie. In looking back at the handsome Edward playing a blind man as he serenaded the adorable Goldie with his guitar, it made me realize how lucky I am to enjoy my vision. I had forgotten that he had passed away at the age of 55 from lung cancer.
Here are some of my favorite butterflies. It was hard to select just a few from the many I’ve photographed.
I had an exciting experience with an extraordinary Two-tailed Swallowtail. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never had a butterfly climb up my arm, it was really cool and a little creepy all at the same time. Its wing was broken, making it impossible to fly. I did my best to keep it safe. I know what you’re thinking…yes it was huge!
