Cozette Vergari

Please join me on Monday, May 15, 2017 starting at 1:00 PST on my Born To Talk radio show heard and seen on www.latalklive.com and www.ustream.tv/channel/la-talk-live

My guest this week will be Cozette Vergari, The Rotary International District 5280 2017-18 District Governor.

Chicago attorney, Paul Harris formed the first Rotary Club on February 23, 1905. In 1908, San Francisco, became the second Rotary Club. It was in 1910 when it became an International organization.

Today, there are over 35,000 clubs with 1.2 million members around the world and the numbers continue to grow. This volunteer organization transforms communities locally and globally.

Their motto is Service Above Self. We will be talking about Cozette’s local Westchester Rotary Club and her responsibilities as the Rotary International District Governor.

Their Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:

Of the things we think, say or do

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Rotary has youth service programs for high school students as well as young professional leadership development programs.

What is Rotary International doing to help and support countries with serious health and economic needs? What is the status of Polio today?

What are local Rotary Clubs doing to help their communities?

This show will highlight the wonderful work of the Rotary Club. You may want to contact a Rotary office where you live.  Here is their link for more information www.rotary.org
