Join me on Monday, October 14th from 1-2 PT on my Born To Talk Radio Show Podcast with my guest, Author Georgeanne Irvine.
Let’s get to know Georgeanne “George” Irvine.
When San Diego native Georgeanne “George” Irvine was a child, she slept with a dozen stuffed animals on her bed— a lion, two teddy bears, a tiger, a monkey, an elephant, and more. It was most certainly indicative of what was to come: a lifelong career at the San Diego Zoo as a spokesperson and champion for wildlife and conservation as well as an award-winning author of children’s books about animals.
George has devoted more than 40 years of her colorful career to the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. She is the director of corporate publishing and an author. She has also worked in the public relations/marketing and development divisions of the organization. What is important to George is her dedication to raising awareness about animals and wildlife conservation.
George has written more than two dozen children’s books about animals, including the Zoo’s new Hope and Inspiration series. George’s passions are travel, photography, storytelling, Broadway musicals, and, of course, animals. Her worldwide adventures have taken her to some of the wildest places on Earth.
George The Author.
George’s books are part of series of Hope and Inspiration. They are true stories that she has captured in beautiful photographs. As an example:
Featured a the top of this post is the Fabulous Floyd. The true story of a Flamingo who never gave up. Floyd needed help from his human caretakers and who-in-turn-helped his human friends learn about never giving up. Karen’s Heart is the true story of a brave baby Orangutan. Her journey is through history-making heart surgery and a challenging recovery. She won the hearts of everyone around her. Ruuxa & Raina. A Cheetah and Dog’s true story of friendship and miracles. Soon to be released, Mosi Musa A true tale about a baby Monkey raised by his grandma.
To say that George has stories to share is an understatement. Tune in to this fun and entertaining show. And, if you have kids, you will want to check out all her books!
