Meet Georgeanne.

She is currently the director of publishing, but spent 22 ½ years in public relations and marketing and 16 ½ years leading the communications team in the philanthropy division of the organization.

She is a champion for wildlife and conservation as well as an award winning author of two dozen children’s books about animals, including the Zoo’s award-winning Hope and Inspiration collection.

Photographing and learning about wildlife in their native habitats are passions for George.

San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is an international, nonprofit conservation organization with two front doors: the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.  They integrate wildlife health and care, science, and education to develop sustainable conservation solution.

San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is committed to saving species worldwide by uniting our expertise in animal care and conservation science with our dedication to inspiring passion for nature.

The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance Press.

George has written many children’s book in her Hope and Inspiration Collection.

“The vision of San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance Press is to inspire a passion for nature and conservation through books. I hope that parents will share our Hope & Inspiration books, written by yours truly, with their children. These are true stories, illustrated with photos, about real animals that live or have lived at our San Diego Zoo or San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Many of the animals have overcome challenges in their lives and their stories also teach life lessons to kids. If children can connect with individual animals—like Tornero the sloth or Omeo the koala—my hope is that they will be inspired to care about that individual, that animal’s species, all other wildlife, and conservation. We also publish illustrated fiction books about wildlife for younger children. Our books can be purchased at this link: https://shopzoo.com/pages/san-diego-zoo-wildlife-alliance-press.”

George’s Takeaways.

“It’s important for all of us to work together to create a world where all life thrives. This includes, humans, wildlife, plants, and the overall environment. Even the smallest thing we do can make difference.  Please support conservation organizations, like the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and the accredited zoos in your community.”
