Mitchell is a 2x TEDx speaker and international bestselling author of over 60 books. After interviewing 500 thought leaders on credibility, he created the Credibility Nation community. He has published a 7-country international bestselling book.
As an accomplished Entrepreneur, Mitchell has created twenty businesses in Silicon Valley including four publishing companies that have published over 750 books. He’s provided strategic consulting to hundreds of companies and has been the chairman of a board of a NASDAQ-listed company.
To start with, how does the Merriam-Webster dictionary define credibility? The quality or power of inspiring belief. He is looking to get the definition rewritten in the dictionary.
You will hear that he sees that word through a new lens. He describes credibility as a quality of being known, being liked, and being trusted. “Credibility is a journey, not a destination. Credibility is your character and other people’s perception of your character.” It is the quality of how you are known, liked, and trusted that defines your credibility. Think about the people you know, from work associates to family and friends. Can you see how, perhaps without even thinking about it, you internally think about the people in your life by their credibility? And what about yours? After speaking with 500 thought leaders about credibility it became clear the next step for Mitchell was starting the Credibility Nation.
The goal of the Credibility Nation is to get people to be more aware of credibility and provide simple and straightforward ways one can show up in the world more credibly.
