Steven Piscitello

Joining me on my Born To Talk Radio Show Podcast on December 13th, 1-2 PT, is returning guest Steven Piscitello.

Steven.

Steven Piscitello is better known as Steven Michaels in the writer’s world.  He has only one excuse for using a pen name. According to Steven, it’s due in part to his actual last name looking terrible in either bold or italic print.  Not to mention the fact no one can spell it or pronounce it! This should give you an insight into his humor!  Steven is also an educator at a PreK to 8th grade school.  He teaches ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and is a Reading/Math Interventionist as support staff.

In his first book, published almost 13 years to this date, Steven wrote, Sweet Life of Mystery: The Misadventures of a Panicky Private Eye.  It is a parody of the genre in case the title didn’t give it away.

Steven is also the Co-Founder and President of Quabbin Quills a 501(c)(3). This nonprofit provides authors from the Quabbin region and greater New England the chance to have their written work professionally published.

Quabbin Quills.

Quabbin Quills was founded in 2017 in an attempt to amass the talented collection of authors and poets in the Quabbin Reservoir region of Massachusetts. There are a diverse set of writers in this section of Massachusetts, but there was no organization that allowed them to showcase their work.

These up-and-coming authors are able to build their writing portfolios. At the same time, it gives them an opportunity to be heard.

Quabbin Quills is dedicated to helping writers publish through annual anthologies featuring a host of New England writers.  Scholarships are what really drive their mission. As well as giving novice writers, regardless of age, the chance to be published. In giving back to the community, they satisfy what it means to be a genuine nonprofit. To do this for the young is so important to the sustainability of their organization as well as the arts community.

As they expanded, they were fortunate enough to award their first Quabbin Quills High School Scholarships in 2020. With the community’s support, they hope to continue that tradition as well as publish anthologies annually.

We will be talking about their newly released anthology, Beyond the Pathway.

The table of contents includes…Pathways of Reflection, Adventure, Soul & Imagination. Followed by, the submissions of their 3 Scholarship winners.

In Closing.

Beyond the Pathway and their other three anthologies are all available at Amazon and you can request that it be put on the shelves of your local bookstores. The submissions portal for Cascades and Currents, their fifth anthology, is now open for all New England Writers.   Visit their website https://quabbinquills.org/submission-guidelines/ for the details. The deadline is February 28, 2022.

Steve is engaging and loves what he does.

Tune in to hear his story!
