Bird LA Day

This past Saturday the Los Angeles Chapter of the Audubon Society had events across the city.  It doesn’t take much for me to be inspired to step outside with my camera.  I was lucky, I took a workshop with professional photographer, Dave Collins www.davecollinsimages.com as we took in the sights and sounds of the Playa Del Rey Lagoon, The Playa Del Rey Jetty and the Ballona Wetlands. It started out with a light drizzle and turned into a beautiful day.

As part of my Wordless Wednesday Blog…let me take you through my favorite shots of the day.

Starting with the Canada Geese. Sometimes you get a bonus while taking a walk. This bunny was just that. Here is the Willet. Why do they seem to prefer the one legged stance?Yes, out in the distance you see the “group home” for the nesting Blue Heron’s. Beside the expertise of Dave Collins, the other two members of the workshop also had professional Cannon Cameras. I do not. But I was pretty excited to still catch these birds in trees from a long distance away.Who can resist the simplicity of a Snowy Egret? The Swallow.Last but certainly not least, the rarely seen Red Throated Loon.Sometimes, words are just not necessary. See you next Wednesday.
