National Baseball Hall of Fame Cooperstown, New York

As our journey continues, we find ourselves at the ultimate location for any baseball fan; the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

When you first enter the building, you realize that you are seeing incredible baseball memories, facts and accomplishments. This was the first of such displays.

As we sat in baseball stadium seats we saw a short presentation about some of the super stars of baseball featured as baseball cards.

Men are not the only ball players recognized here.  If you saw the movie, an all time family favorite; A League of Their Own, then you know that a women’s baseball league was established while many men were fighting in World War II.

The all star cast consisted of Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Madonna, Rosie O’Donnell and the hysterical Jon Lovitz. The line “There’s no crying in baseball” can still hold true today as we watch this year’s World Series, especially for us Dodger Fans.

It was exciting to be part of this woman’s reaction to her mother’s name listed as an inductee in the Hall along with her uniform.

Moving on and probably biased in my photo sharing, here are a few of my favorites!

This was 10 years before my family and 3 other families became Dodger season ticket holders. Can you remember their first names as well?

1962

1972

1984

Of course we bought some T-shirts, but I just loved this sign. Can anyone relate?

Saw this baseball bat American Flag near the Doubleday Field.

And finally, how could we not…Guess I snapped this before the mustard and onions!

Up next, Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmer’s Museum…just down the road.

There is no grass growing under our feet!
