Good Bye Cooperstown

We spent 2 days visiting Cooperstown. We had grand time visiting Sharon Springs, along with the Hall of Fame, and the Fenimore Art Museum.  Just one more stop before we call it a day.

The Farmer’s Museum founded in 1944 has a working farm, historic village and the Empire State Carousel. Of course we needed to take a ride.  Doesn’t it figure I’d be sitting on a chicken or maybe it’s a rooster!

The grounds were fun to walk around.  I was on the look out for birds and roosters. But there were other farm animals that were ready for their close ups, I’m not kidding.

What is it about these birds I find so fascinating?

For my friends that split logs and stack them for your fireplaces, this one’s for you.

It had been a very long day of touristy things and now it’s time to just sit down on the veranda at the beautiful Otesaga Resort have a drink and appreciate Lake Ostego and the fall foliage. I might add, it was confusing at times keeping the name of the resort and the lake separate. It’s not a typo.

What a welcoming front lawn.

However, this was the spectacular view from the back of the property.

I asked everyone sitting around us, if they knew what kind of duck the white one was, I still don’t know! Other than one helpful new friend that said, “it’s a white duck.”

We had a wonderful time in New York. Next stop…Middlebury, Vermont. And just in case you were wondering what our car looked like…Girls just wanna have fun!!
