Joining me on my Born To Talk Radio Show Podcast on Monday, August 17th from 1-2 PT is Yuri Williams.  Yuri is the founder of A Future Superhero And Friends 501(c)(3) non-profit.

In the beginning.

Yuri and I met over 20 years ago. I was working as the Membership Director of the Westchester Family YMCA and Yuri was one of the many men playing basketball in the gym.  I had no idea that this young man in the red-striped knee-high socks would become the inspirational leader of his non-profit years after I retired.   By profession, Yuri is an Orange County probation officer.  His mother also, a probation officer, passed away from cancer in 2009.  The following 5 years were difficult as Yuri had to come to terms with his grief.  He decided that the best way to deal with his sadness and honor his mom was to in service to others—and he has since touched the lives of tens of thousands of people.

 A Future Hero And Friends

Yuri came up with an idea to feed the elderly, children, veterans, and the homeless, and also visit ill children dressed as Spider-Man. They loved it and that’s when the idea of the non-profit A FUTURE SUPERHERO AND FRIENDS was born. They currently have completed several projects over the years that include, blood drives, movie-night, toy drives, feeding, and clothing the homeless, and have also visited 50 states. Through his leadership and his good friends, they are showing love and compassion to everyone they encounter.

Spiderman to the Rescue.

A picture is worth a 1,000 words, these must represent 3,000!

Why does he do it?

In just 25 days, Yuri traveled to all 50 states to inspire communities that need hope. Yuri understands the value of bringing smiles to hospitalized children by dressing up as a superhero.

With his daughter’s blessing, Yuri completed his second tour of the United States in December 2019, where he dressed as popular superheroes to cheer up children at hospitals and visited the elderly at care facilities. He took a month off of work to embark on the project using his own money and grants from companies like Walmart.

Would you like to help Yuri to continue his service to others?  Here’s how…follow this link.

For you Spiderman fans, keep this in mind:

Voltaire said it first: “With great power comes great responsibility”. Others prefer a more-recent attribution, citing Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben in Spiderman.
