High School Students…Ramzy Latif and Luke Hakanen

School is just underway and when would be better time than now to have 2 high school students join me on Monday, August 21st from 1-2PT on LA Talk Live?

Ramzy Latif, 16 is a Junior at my former alma mater Westchester High school, that is now Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnet High School.

Luke Hakanen, 15 is a Sophomore at El Segundo High School and my next-door neighbor.

Both Ramzy and Luke met in 2014 when they were playing on the same Little League team.

They share the love of baseball and went on to play in the Babe Ruth League on different teams.

What I am interested in sharing with you are their stories.  Starting with their summer experiences that include, sports, Boy Scouts, Martial Arts and travel with sprinkling of history.

Ramzy has returned from traveling with his scout troop by canoe from Minnesota into Canada. He also attended the Boy Scout Jamboree. Being an Eagle Scout is in his future. He is also a member of the Westchester YMCA’s Youth and Government program and he is a world traveler.  His view of life is very interesting because of his family.

Luke played on his Babe Ruth All-Star team and has a black belt in Taekwondo and Hapkido. We will hear about his Martial Arts journey.  He loves history and why he thinks it’s so important. I’m impressed how knowledgeable he is and if he doesn’t know for sure he researches to find out the facts.

I’m encouraged to spend an hour with each of these young men. They are mature, confident, interesting and glimpse into our future. They represent what is great about today’s high school students.

Please join us. I’m sure you will agree that they will be wonderful guests with a youthful point of view.
