Jean grew up in Monterey Park. She attended East LA College, Cal State LA ad UCLA Extension. Before starting TranQuilPET, she attended classes from La Paw Spa in Washington State in order to learn how to work with dogs in the water properly. She also went to Ojai Animal Massgae, where she received her Master Reiki Certification. Jean is a Pet First Aid & CPR instructor, receiving her training from ProPetHero.
Jean is a life-long animal lover. In 2006 Jean’s beloved Bailey (then 12), hind legs atrophied during a long recuperative time after surgery. At that time, swimming dogs was a little-known healing art. After a month of swimming three times a week, Bailey began walking again without assistance.
Thus began Jean’s journey through pet education in various modalities, they include warm water swimming, animal massage, Reiki energy healing, Pet First Aid & CPR. From this, Jean has developed a comprehensive holistic pet care business that includes classes and lectures in “How to Care for Your Senior Pet,” “The Importance of Giving Your Pet a Monthly In-Home Check-Up,” a hands-on class where you bring your dog to class and “Learn to Give Your Dog a Relaxation Massage,” to name just a few.
It’s important for you to know, Jean is not a vet. She does not diagnose or treat injuries, illness, or disease, nor does she prescribe medical treatment, pharmaceuticals, or perform spinal thrust manipulations. All of her holistic modalities are not substitutes for proper veterinary care. However, she does believe that holistic care works hand-in-hand and compliments your vet’s pet care.
Jean has wonderful stories to share about her business.
